BABA BATIKS was established in 1976 as a cottage industry in the salubrious surrounding of the historically and culturally important city of Matale. With the demand of original and quality batiks by the tourists, the industry too grew in to a small-scale industry. Positioned on the main highway to the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka.

          With the ever growing demand and trust placed on BABA BATIKS by the reputed travel agents and tour operators the industry went through restructuring progress i the way of providing a better service to the customers. Today it is supposed to be the most convenient, picturesque, professional and original batik industry contracted with almost all the leading tour operators in Sri Lanka.
